Based on the work by the American psychologist Paul Ekmen, we know that human beings have six basic emotions: fear, sadness, anger, disgust, joy... and surprise. All can be recognised by the face and body expressions associated with them. These expressions are called individual, since they can be triggered even without social interaction. People with autistic disorders, both children and adults, often find it difficult to recognise, interpret, verbalise and control their emotions.
